The O'Neill Highland Open will be held for a second time at the famous Thurso East reef break on the British mainland. Since last year, the Open has been taken to the next level and is now graded as a maximum prime six star WQS competition. In the United Kingdom the O'Neill Open is now considered the biggest professional surfing event with as many as 144 professional surfers taking place.
The definition of a cairn is a group of stones that have been placed on top of one another to form a mound. This is a man made constructed by either a singular person or a group of people. The term is derived from the Scottish Gaelic word "carn".
Much is still uncertain and undiscovered about the Scottish writer, William Sharp. Born in Paisley on the 12th September 1855, William Sharp passed away on the 12th of December 1905. He was buried within Castello di Maniace in Sicily, Italy at fifty years old.
The Central Scotland Horse Trials is a twice a year event which takes competitors through their paces at a tough and consistent level. The first event takes place every spring during the month of May.
